Proposed is a Lactobacillus plantarum strain KBL396 (KCTC13278BP) for increasing serotonin secretion. Also proposed are pharmaceutical compositions containing said strain or culture thereof and used to increase serotonin secretion or to prevent or treat neurological diseases.
