The present invention provides parallel computing involving multiple processing element types by applying generalized Amdahl's law, which relates to the speedup of a system, the number of processing elements of each type, and the fraction of code fragments of each concurrent execution that can be parallelized. It provides a way to optimize the system. The present invention can be used to determine the change in accelerator processing elements required to achieve a desired speedup.
