The present invention relates to a separator including a porous coating layer and a lithium metal secondary battery including the same, comprising: a porous polymer substrate; and an additive that is formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate and undergoes a reduction reaction at 0 V to 5 V compared to inorganic particles, binder polymer, and lithium in which oxidation and reduction reactions do not occur in the operating voltage range of the battery. It relates to a separator and a lithium metal secondary battery comprising the same, wherein the additive is contained in an amount of 1 to 10% by weight based on the total weight of the porous coating layer.
