A method of operating an electronic device for a lecture service includes the steps of storing lecture data for the lecture service in a memory of the electronic device, and when a condition related to excluding or extracting a portion of the lecture data is satisfied, in the processor of the electronic device extracting the second portion of the lecture data by excluding the first portion of the lecture data, and transmitting the second portion of the lecture data to the device of the user of the lecture service via the communication device of the electronic device. The amount of the second portion of the lecture data is less than the amount of all of the lecture data. The first portion corresponds to a portion of the lecture data determined not to be transmitted to the user's device based on the condition, and the second portion corresponds to a portion of the lecture data determined to be transmitted to the user's device based on the condition.
