Disclosed is a water diversion mechanism for agricultural irrigation, the mechanism comprising a U-shaped water pipe (21), a sealing plug (22), a lever (23), a connecting member (24) and a buoyancy mechanism (25). The U-shaped water pipe (21) is configured in an inverted manner, a through hole (211) in communication with the inside and the outside is disposed at a bent pipe position of the bottom of the U-shaped water pipe, the lever (23) is rotatably arranged on the U-shaped water pipe (21), the sealing plug (22) is disposed inside the U-shaped water pipe (21), the connecting member (24) penetrates the through hole (211) to connect the middle of the lever (23) to the sealing plug (22), and the buoyancy mechanism (25) is arranged at the other end of the lever (23). The water diversion mechanism utilises a siphon effect to meet different irrigation requirements of different farmlands, and can be repeatedly opened; and compared with electromagnetic valve control and other means, the cost is low and the application range is wide. In cooperation with a lever principle, the sealing plug is fixed in the through hole by a larger force when the water diversion mechanism is closed; and the sealing plug is pushed open by a larger force when the water diversion mechanism is opened. A connecting rod is made of a flexible rod and a hard rod and same are used in conjunction, such that the hard rod pushes the sealing plug to open, and when the through hole is closed, the sealing plug can also automatically adjust the position thereof.
