PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a medium for identifying a stack trace accumulating a heap in order to optimize memory efficiency. SOLUTION: The method determines the length of time that the heap usage by a process exceeds a threshold, and determines the heap information of the process during this length of time. The heap information includes heap usage information for each interval during this length of time. The thread information for one or more processes during this length of time is then determined. Determining thread information involves determining the class of threads, which includes thread strength information for each of the intervals for each of the classes of threads. The method then correlates the heap information with the thread information to identify the code corresponding to the heap usage above the threshold and initiates the action associated with this code.
