An alignment method for matching symmetric points as zero weight points in an analog crosspoint array, and a vector matrix, analog array-based vector matrix multiplication is a set of conductive rows and wires, and conductive rows and wires. Connected to a reference array, each containing a set of conductive column wiring that intersects the set, and a crossbar array with an optimizeable crosspoint device at the intersection of the set of conductive column wiring and the set of conductive row wiring. Includes weight array. It also applies repeating voltage pulses to the crosspoint devices in the weight array and crosspoint devices from the weight array until all of the crosspoint devices in the weight array have converged to their own symmetry points. Includes copying each conductance value to the reference array.
