The present application relates to an epidemic investigation method employing robotic process automation (RPA), and a device, pertaining to the technical field of artificial intelligence. The particular disclosed technical solution comprises: an RPA system acquiring a contact directory of investigation subjects, and generating an epidemic investigation table, wherein the epidemic investigation table comprises multiple epidemic investigation questions, and multiple entries to be filled respectively corresponding to the multiple epidemic investigation questions; the RPA system sequentially calling, by means of an outbound calling system, phone numbers of the investigation subjects according to the contact directory, and performing audio playback of synthesized speech data of the epidemic investigation questions; the RPA system acquiring response speech data of the investigation subjects relating to the synthesized speech data of the epidemic investigation questions; the RPA system recognizing the response speech data to generate recognition results, and automatically filling the recognition results into the entries corresponding to the epidemic investigation questions in the epidemic investigation table; and the RPA system conducting epidemic investigation according to the epidemic investigation table. In this way, the invention achieves epidemic investigation by employing a combination of the RPA technique and the outbound calling technique, thereby improving investigation efficiency, and reducing investigation costs and risks.
