A control method for a road roller machine, and a road roller machine. The control method comprises: in response to a vibration start request, turning up the rotational speed of an engine until the rotational speed exceeds a preset rotational speed interval and turning down the displacement of a driving pump; starting a vibration pump; determining whether a vibration assembly has completed vibration start; and after vibration start is completed, turning down the rotational speed of the engine to be within the preset rotational speed interval, turning up the displacement of the driving pump, and turning up the displacement of the vibration pump. The road roller machine comprises a main body, an engine, a driving assembly, a driving pump, a vibration pump, a vibration assembly, and a controller, wherein the controller executes a preset control method. The road roller machine can start vibration at a low rotational speed of the engine.
