SLEEPING BAG FOR A CHILD FOR USE ON AIRLINE SEATS

A sleeping bag for use by a young child on a seat comprises a pouch for accommodating the child and a deformable cushion located inside the pouch and configured for, in use, supporting a lower back and hip region of the child. When used, the shape of the deformable bag insert will conform to the shape of the child sitting against it. Optionally, the parent or some other caretaker may pre-shape the deformable cushion before putting the child into the pouch. The sleeping bag combines portability with proper support and stability for the child. Although portability is a common aspect for many sleeping bags, sleeping bags are typically designed to be soft and warm and do not provide any support and stability. Conventional sleeping bags are therefore not very suitable for use in an upright or partially upright position, such as on a seat. The deformable cushion provides additional support to the small child, support that it would normally not get from a seat designed for adults. With this additional support, the child will be able to remain its posture for an extended period while in a comfortable and secure position.
