In this livestock management system, the following are connected via a network: a livestock management device that manages the status of livestock according to the behavior of the livestock in a barn that has a rearing area where the livestock are kept; and an infrared sensor that is installed in the barn, detects the temperature of the rearing area, and transmits a detection result to the livestock management device. The livestock management device comprises: a livestock status calculation unit; an abnormal individual discrimination unit; and a notification unit. The livestock status calculation unit generates livestock status information that includes: location information of livestock in the rearing area, which is calculated on the basis of information that indicates the temperature distribution in the rearing area and that is generated using the detection results from the infrared sensor; and the time when the detection results are acquired from the infrared sensor. On the basis of the livestock location information in the livestock status information, the abnormal individual discrimination unit discriminates, from among the livestock, an abnormal individual that is behaving differently from a normal individual exhibiting normal behavior. When an abnormal individual is present, the notification unit notifies the user of abnormal individual information indicating that the abnormal individual is present in the barn.
