System and method for mitigating imaging artifact

The radiation imaging technique includes the use of an exposure sequence having a plurality of sample exposure windows.The plurality of sample exposure windows have a total exposure time period which satisfies a desired exposure time.A plurality of exposure frames from multiple sample exposure windows are summed to form an output frame.An output frame is provided as an output.The methods and systems described herein may be used to substantially reduce artifacts.The techniques disclosed are still advantageous in generating diagnostic related images that reduce the effect of artifacts such that the acquired images are beneficial to medical personnel to perform appropriate decisions, assessments and diagnoses.
