METHOD AND REAGENTS FOR DETECTING LUCIFERASE ACTIVITY

Components of bioluminescent systems are widely used reagents for a large number of assays, including diagnostic systems, quality control systems, drug trial systems and the like. The present group of inventions discloses components of the bioluminescent system of the Chaetopterus variopedatus worm, in particular luciferins and functional analogues thereof. Furthermore, the present group of inventions discloses a method for detecting luciferase in biological samples using substrates (luciferins and functional analogues thereof) of the bioluminescent system of the Chaetopterus variopedatus, and a method for detecting bioluminescence in a biological sample.
