A system for attaching valve seats to an aluminium cylinder head of a motor vehicle includes a cylinder head of a motor vehicle with a valve seat section. A valve seat insert is positioned in the valve seat area of the cylinder head. A melting connection is created between the valve seat insertion and the valve seat section by laser welding, which melts the valve seat insert with the valve seat section.
