The present specification discloses a cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plant, or a progeny thereof, having a viability equivalent to that of a Brassica rapa plant having a normal cytoplasm. Existing cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plants have an insufficient affinity between the nuclear genome and the mitochondrial genome, so there is a problem in that growth is reduced compared to Brassica rapa plants having a normal cytoplasm. According to an aspect of the present invention, it is possible to provide a cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plant with improved growth by improving the point of decreasing growth seen in conventional cytoplasmic male sterile Brassica rapa plants.
