FIELD: communication technology. ;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a remote type of chess game, namely to a new type of remote chess using modern communication capabilities. The device for playing remote chess contains a service computer connected to a given number of means for calculating moves, as well as a network adapter designed to transmit the next half-move through a global computer network. The network adapter is connected to the block of automatic selection of the next half-move and to the block of forming conditions for its selection. In addition, the service computer contains an auxiliary off/on unit connected to the automatic selection unit for the next half-move and designed to turn it off or on. The invention can be applied in online advanced chess competitions. ;EFFECT: due to the possibility of strengthening any chess program by a chess player, the invention makes it possible to hold competitions taking into account to the game in absolute terms. ;3 cl, 8 dwg
