PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new means for detecting walnuts in distinction from plants of the genus Caria. SOLUTION: This is a primer set for detecting walnuts, and 3 of (A1) a base sequence A1 consisting of a specific sequence, (A2) a base sequence A2 homologous to the base sequence A1, and (A3) a base sequence A1. 'Contains an oligonucleotide containing a base sequence A selected from a base sequence A3 which is a partial base sequence of 5 or more consecutive bases from the terminal base and a base sequence A4 homologous to the (A4) base sequence A3 at the 3'end. Primer A, (B1) a base sequence B1 consisting of a specific sequence, (B2) a base sequence B2 homologous to the base sequence B1, and (B3) a partial base of 5 or more consecutive bases from the 3'end base of the base sequence B1. A primer set containing a primer B containing an oligonucleotide containing a base sequence B selected from a base sequence B3 which is a sequence and a base sequence B4 homologous to the (B4) base sequence B3 at the 3'end.
