A method of assisting in driving a vehicle (1), comprises steps of: - detection, by means of a detection system (7), of a parameter relating to the behavior of the driver (9) of the vehicle (1), - determination, by means of a computer (5) of the vehicle (1), of an intention to change lanes of the driver (9) of the vehicle (1) on the basis of the detected parameter, - in the case where the intention to change lanes has been determined, broadcasting, in the environment of the vehicle (1) and by means of a broadcasting system (11), of a signal indicating the intention to change lanes.
