To provide a meditation effect estimation technique to estimate whether or not an effective meditation is practiced.SOLUTION: Employing a first parasympathetic activity index value as an index value to indicate the level of parasympathetic activity in a prescribed time period before an object person practices a meditation, and employing a second parasympathetic activity index value as an index value to indicate the level of parasympathetic activity in a prescribed time period after the object person starts practicing a meditation, a device includes: a parasympathetic activity index value acquisition part for acquiring the first parasympathetic activity index value and the second parasympathetic activity index value; and a meditation effect estimation part for generating a meditation effect estimation result that indicates the presence or absence of effect of the meditation practiced by the object person based on the first parasympathetic activity index value and the second parasympathetic activity index value, and the meditation effect estimation result indicates the effectiveness of the concentration meditation if the second parasympathetic activity index value indicates higher level of parasympathetic activity than that of the first parasympathetic activity index value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
