How to prevent breakage of corrugated pipe of type IV pressure vessel

A pressure vessel that reduces leakage of a Type IV pressure vessel having a liner with a corrugated portion and a method of making the pressure vessel are provided. The method includes providing a liner having a tubular portion having a corrugated portion comprising circumferential corrugations providing alternating ridges and troughs arranged from one end to an opposite end of the corrugated portion; attaching a barrier to the outer surface of the corrugated portion from one end to the opposite end of the corrugated portion such that an void is formed in the annular cavity between the liner and the barrier; and applying a resin to the outer surface of the barrier. The barrier prevents intrusion of resin between the liner and the barrier in the corrugated portion.
