The present invention relates to a novel use of an edelweiss extract for application to the skin, scalp or hair having human hair to prevent graying of the hair. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for preventing graying of hair comprising applying to skin having human hair a topical composition comprising an effective amount of an edelweiss extract.
