The invention relates to a heating press for vulcanising a vehicle tyre, said heating press comprising: a two-part hood consisting of a hood upper part (4) and a hood lower part (7); and a container (2) which is located in the hood upper part and has the vulcanising mould comprising the moulded parts (14, 16, 17, 18, 21) for moulding the tyre; wherein the hood upper part (4) and the hood lower part (7) are connected to the container (2) such that the moulded parts (14, 16, 17, 18, 21) of the vulcanising mould can be closed in the radial direction (P2) when the hoods (4, 7) are brought together over a total stroke (GH) in the axial direction (P1), during which total stroke the open end of one hood (4) can be lowered into the open end of the second hood (7) with almost no play. The hood upper part and the hood lower part are air-tight and have at least one annular seal (10). The heating press also has a pump (10) and a vacuum tank (11) for producing a vacuum in the interior of the hood.
