A method for growing plants in a greenhouse, the method using: • a) at least a container (299) for supporting the plants; and • b) a system (200, 400) for storing the container, the system comprising: • i) a conveyor system (240); and • ii) a frame (250) for storing the container in a storing zone (255); and the method comprises the steps of: • · arranging the plants in the container; • · conveying, via the conveyor system, the container supporting the plants along the conveying zone (221) to a sub- zone adjacent to the frame in a first vertical position; wherein the system further comprises: • i) lifting means (130) for lifting said container to a second vertical position above the sub-zone of the conveying zone such that the distance in the vertical between the first vertical position and the second vertical position is bigger than a vertical size of said container including the plants; and • ii) storing means (132, 432) for storing the container in the second vertical position.
