To provide a vending machine payment system, a vending machine payment method, a vending machine, an intermediate server, and a gateway device, which enable internet payment for a vending machine in the mode for making it easy to change settings, for example, when changing the selling price of a commodity while preventing the vending machine itself from becoming expensive.SOLUTION: A vending machine payment system 1 of the present invention includes a vending machine 2 having a code label 21 that individually identifies at least each vending machine 2, an intermediate server 4 that performs, on the basis of information obtained by reading the code label 21 by a mobile terminal 3, relay processing between the mobile terminal 3 and a payment server 5 that performs payment processing based on the obtained information, and a gateway device 6 that transmits purchase enablement information to the vending machine 2 on the basis of payment completion information obtained from the intermediate server 4 so as to enable the purchase of a commodity.
