The present invention relates to a steam methane reformer tube outlet assembly and method of assembling or retrofitting the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to exposed flanged tube outlets of reformers designed to mitigate metal dusting corrosion, dew point condensation-related metal fatigue and cracking, and overheat induced metal destruction, such as hydrogen attack.
