It is provided a yeast product for use as a prebiotic agent, and a composition comprising it. It is also provided the non-therapeutic use of a yeast product, and a composition comprising it, as a prebiotic agent. The yeast product, and the composition comprising it, stimulate the growth of bacteria of theBacteroidetesphylum in the mammal gut microbiota.
