PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine and a drum type washing and drying machine which can shorten correction time of imbalance in a dewatering step in which large clothing like a blanket and blankets of different materials are combined, and which suppress increase in dewatering time and power consumption.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a rotatable drum in which a rotary shaft is horizontal or inclined so that the depth side is on the lower side; an outer tub for including the drum and for storing washing water; a housing for including the outer tub; and determination means for sticking state of laundry and determination means for imbalance in the drum. In a first dewatering operation, determination (205) of sticking state of clothing and determination (209) of imbalance are performed. In the case where the imbalance is larger than a threshold value of the determination means for imbalance, rotation control of the second dewatering operation and thereafter when resuming dewatering is set from the determination of sticking state of clothing in the first dewatering operation, and in rotation control (215) of the second dewatering operation and thereafter, rotation control different from that in the first dewatering operation is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
