The determination device selects one band width from each of the total M band widths respectively obtained for the first to the N-th modulation methods, to obtain MN groups in total each including N band widths associated with the first the N-th modulation methods. The determination device then determines, among the MN groups in total, a group having the smallest total difference from the maximum value of the band width included in the group, to determine the number of propagation modes corresponding to a band width associated with an n-th modulation method (n is an integer from 1 to N) included in the determined group, as the number of propagation modes for the n-th modulation method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
