A method for testing bioavailability of hexavalent chromium in soil by a respiration pathway, relating to the field of ecotoxicology research. The bioavailability of hexavalent chromium in soil is researched by means of three in-vitro digestion extraction methods, i.e., an SBET method, a PBET method, and an SGET method; by means of an average extraction rate of hexavalent chromium contaminated soil, it is obtained that the bioavailable content of the hexavalent chromium in the soil is in a positive correlation with the pH and an organic matter content of the soil, and the content of iron and manganese in the soil also can influence the bioavailability of the hexavalent chromium in the soil to a certain extent. By exploring the bioavailable content of the hexavalent chromium in the soil, the health risk of the soil is determined, and the influence on the content of the hexavalent chromium in the soil is researched according to the related physicochemical properties of the soil.
