Problem to be solved: to provide a technique for controlling the amount of print ink to deposit fluid within an accurate tolerance.The ink printing process employs a droplet measurement and processing software per nozzle to plan a combination of droplets to reach a particular total ink fill per target area and ensure compliance with minimum and maximum ink fill set by the specification.In various embodiments, different droplet combinations are generated through different printhead / substrate scan offsets, offset between print heads, use of different nozzle drive waveforms, and / or other techniques.Optionally, a pattern of packing variations can be introduced to reduce the observable line effect in the completed display device.The disclosed art has many other possible uses.Fig. 3 (a)
