Overhead coupling and control device incorporating a retractable coupling device and locking components (23, 43) for use in the devices.The centre of gravity or mass centre of gravity of at least one of the locking components (23, 43) shall be so moved from the pivoting axis of the locking part (23, 43) that when the locking part (23, 43) moves from an intervention position,a torque of the centre of gravity relative to the pivoting axis decreases from a maximum value to essentially zero in an off-mode position to facilitate uncoupling of the locking part (23, 43) at high speeds.
