To provide a drug identification device capable of accurately reading various information attached to a surface of a drug by stably correcting a posture of the drug regardless of the drug's shape and the like and a drug sorting device, a drug dispensing system, and a drug identification method that include the drug identification device.SOLUTION: A first drug confirmation unit 30, a drug identification device for reading various information attached to an outer peripheral surface of a drug D, comprises a holding unit 34, a bar code reader 31, a camera C2, and an ejection unit 60. On the holding unit 34 is placed the drug D. The bar code reader 31 and the camera C2 read the various information attached to the outer peripheral surface of the drug D placed on the holding unit 34.
