The present application provides a method for switching a receive chain open state, and a first multilink device. The method comprises: the first multilink device receives a first frame sent from a second multilink device by means of a first link; the first multilink device makes one or more second links be in a multi-receive chain open state, wherein the second link is a link different from the first link between the first multilink device and the second multilink device. The method provided by the present application facilitates the second multilink device to perform data transmission with the first multilink device on the second link in a timely fashion by using multiple spatial streams. The present application can be applied to various WiFi systems that support 802.11 standards, such as 802.11be standards.
