Disclosed are a lithium-ion battery separator and a preparation method therefor, and a lithium-ion battery. The separator comprises a base separator, which contains catalyst composite particles; or the separator comprises a base separator and a coating, at least a portion of a surface of the base separator being coated with a coating, and the coating containing catalyst composite particles. The catalyst composite particles comprise a core and a housing coated on an outer surface of the core; the core contains a catalyst that can catalyze at least one component in an electrolyte to experience polymerization; and the housing contains a thermoplastic polymer, the melting point of the thermoplastic polymer not being higher than the melting point of the base separator.
