PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic estimation of a driver's skill level and reliability level. In various embodiments, a driver sensing subsystem calculates a driver's characteristics based on the driver's physiological attributes (s) measured as the driver operates the vehicle. The driver assessment application then uses a confidence level model to estimate the confidence level associated with the driver based on the driver's characteristics. Next, the driver evaluation application causes the driving support application (s) to perform operations based on the confidence level (s) and change at least one function of the vehicle. Advantageously, the driver evaluation application implements a conventional driving assistance application that does not consider the driver's confidence level by allowing the driving assistance application (s) to consider the driver's confidence level.
