PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a component of a magnetic field in a predetermined direction. SOLUTION: The method is to prepare a quantum system in a coherent superposition state (S1), to develop the quantum system with respect to a delay time (S2), and to perform a read operation and a projection measurement on the quantum system.
