Disclosed are a reverse TDoA-based positioning method and system. In this embodiment, for wired/wireless synchronization for UWB (Ultra-Wideband)-based Real-Time Locating System (RTLS), each of a plurality of slave anchors communicating with a master anchor configured for each single cell locally clocks itself based on the master synchronization signal. Provided is a reverse TDoA-based positioning method and system that synchronizes information with a master anchor and calculates a position of a tag based on a time difference between synchronization signals received from a plurality of master anchors and slave anchors in the tag.
