FIELD: coatings.;SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in application of heat-protective coatings on pieces of aviation and space equipment, in production of high-temperature ceramic matrix composites, chemically and erosion-resistant materials. The method for producing nanocomposites of niobium or tantalum carbides in a carbon matrix constituting an amorphous and graphitised phases, NbC/C and TaC/C includes deposition of metals from NbCl5 or TaCl5 solutions in dry organic solvents and degradation of the resulting deposition in a forevacuum at 10-2 to 10-4Pa, heating to a temperature of 900 to 1,200°C, and sustaining at these temperatures for an hour. Deposition is conducted with acetylene.;EFFECT: invention provides a possibility of reducing the amount of stages and the power consumption in production of nanocomposite powders with an average diameter of 50 nm, containing niobium or tantalum carbides in the carbon matrix.;2 cl, 8 dwg, 6 ex
