The present application provides an energy control system and control method for a hybrid power supply system of a communication base station. The energy control system comprises a power grid, a diesel generator, a photovoltaic system, a lithium battery, a lead-acid battery, and a main controller. Both the power grid and the diesel generator are connected to an AC/DC rectifier by means of an automatic transfer switch; the AC/DC rectifier is connected to a system DC busbar; the diesel generator is connected to the system DC busbar by means of a DC/DC converter; the photovoltaic system is connected to the system DC busbar by means of an MPPT controller; both the lithium battery and the lead-acid battery are connected to the system DC busbar by means of a DC power flow distributor; the system DC busbar is connected to a load to supply power to the load; the main controller is used for achieving overall system operation control and adjusting output powers of the lithium battery, the lead-acid battery, and the diesel generator. According to the present application, the operation time of the diesel engine can be reduced, the lithium battery can be efficiently used, the remaining power of the lead-acid battery can be extracted, and power supply reliability can be improved.
