A feature information generation device according to the present disclosure generates feature information for identifying a coin from a coin image, said device comprising: an acquisition unit which acquires an actual coin image that is an image of an actual coin having a first surface part formed of a first material and a second surface part formed of a second material different from the first material; and a control unit which generates a synthesized coin image to which a virtual boundary is imparted along the boundary of the first surface part and the second surface part in the actual coin image, and generates the feature information on the basis of the synthesized coin image.
