Disclosed is a thermal analyzer that enables observation of a sample. The thermal analyzer enables a film-like sample to be reliably observed by solving a problem that the film-like sample is subject to thermal deformation such as shrinkage or warpage when the sample is heated or cooled. Furthermore, a sample container for a thermal analyzer is disclosed, which is used to measure the thermal behavior of a sample, which can be attributed to heating or cooling of the sample, and to observe the sample.
