METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING A CALCAREOUS CELL IN THE AREA OF THE BLUNT POLE OF AN AVIAN EGG

For the purposes of processing an eggshell (3) of an avian egg with an embryo contained therein, a position of an air cell (7), which is arranged between an inner membrane (6) and an outer membrane (5) of the avian egg in the region of the blunt pole (4), is established. To this end, an image of the avian egg is captured using a sensor device (11), the output signal or output data of which is substantially independent of a colour of the eggshell (3), and the image is evaluated for establishing the position of the air cell (7). A processing device (14) is actuated for processing the eggshell (3) in the region of the blunt pole (4) in a manner dependent on the position of the air cell (7) that was established by evaluation of the image.
