To appropriately execute virus check of an encrypted attachment file and provide the attachment file without separating it from an e-mail.SOLUTION: When an e-mail acquired via a mail acquisition unit 1241 includes an encrypted attachment file, a mail preservation unit 1244 preserves it in a mail preservation memory 115. A request mail provision unit 1245 and a password acquisition unit 1246 are functioned to acquire a password for decryption from a transmission destination user PC 2 of the preserved e-mail. The decryption unit 1246 decrypts the attachment file using the password, and a virus check unit 1242 executes the check. When no problem is found in the check, a mail provision unit 1243 provides the user PC 2 with the received e-mail with the attachment file.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
