According to an embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method for registering and verifying the identity of a companion animal performed by a server, the method comprising: (a) receiving an inscription image and registration information of a companion animal from a user terminal; (b) extracting a first feature point from the inscription image through deep learning; (c) comparing the first feature point and a pre-stored second feature point; and (d) performing identity registration or identification of the companion animal based on the comparison result.
