Method of analyzing aqueous fluid using two-dimensional infrared spectroscopy

The method of analyzing an aqueous fluid comprises the step of obtaining a 2D-IR spectrum of the aqueous fluid sample using a 2D-IR spectroscope configured to apply an IR pulse sequence to the sample. The sequence comprises a pumping process followed by a probe pulse. The pumping process is a single pump pulse or a sequence of first and second pump pulses. The waiting time Tw between the application of the pump pulse or the second pump pulse and the application of the probe pulse is 150 to 350 fs.
