The invention relates to a method for producing a rolled multiphase steel strip with improved mechanical properties which exceed the hitherto conventionally achievable mechanical properties. This is achieved by adapting the chemical composition of the base material and by a corresponding thermal treatment of the multiphase steel strip below the alloy-specific Ac3 temperature.
