This film for film capacitors comprises a base material film that is formed of a polypropylene and an oxidized layer that is provided on at least one of the front surface and the back surface of the base material film. The oxygen atom concentration of the oxidized layer as determined with use of a secondary ion mass spectrometry method is 1021 atoms/cm3 or more.
