A use of a flavonoid glycoside substance and a glycosyltransferase therefor in regulating plant allelopathy, relating to a use of orientin in any one of the following: regulating plant allelopathy, regulating the resistance of a plant to weeds, or inhibiting weed growth; and a use of a Os02g0589400 protein or a related biomaterial thereof in any one of the following: regulating plant allelopathy, regulating the resistance of a plant to weeds, regulating the content of orientin in a plant, catalyzing orientin glycosylation, serving as or preparing a glycosylation transferase, or inhibiting weed growth. Experimentation has demonstrated that Os02g0589400 is able to regulate the allelopathy of a plant, and can be used to inhibit weed growth. The described method has important significance for developing environmentally friendly, green pesticides, cultivating rice varieties having high-capability allelopathy, and regulation of orientin biosynthesis, and at the same time, provides theoretical guidance for controlling weeds in rice paddies.
