Disclosed are an apparatus and method for extracting feature points of an image using a higher-order Laplacian of Gaussian kernel. The method for extracting feature points of an image includes generating a higher-order LoG kernel using a Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG) operator; and extracting feature points of the image by using the higher-order LoG kernel.
