A method for generating a holographic-optical beam-shaping element, which is set up to generate diffracted beams for reconstructing an image of a diffuser independently of the point of incidence of a light bundle on the holographic-optical beam-shaping element, comprising: providing a recording element; • forming a recording stack comprising the recording element and the main element such that the main element is arranged at a close copy distance to the recording element; • irradiating at least a part of the recording stack with a reconstruction beam; and • irradiating at least a part of the recording stack with a reference beam, • wherein at least one of the reconstruction beam or the reference beam penetrates the main element for recording the pattern of the main element on the recording element that is outside an image plane of a real image that is generated by means of the main element, • wherein the recording element comprises a photopolymer film which has a cross-linked matrix and writing monomers, • wherein the recording element comprises a glass plate and the photopolymer film is laminated against the glass plate, and • wherein the recording element is arranged in the recording stack such that the glass plate of the recording element is irradiated by the reference beam, and the recording element is arranged in the recording stack such that the photopolymer film of the recording element is irradiated by the diffracted beam.
